Philosophy of Education
GMMCS believes in the capacity of the child to progress naturally and fully at his own pace. It also believes that given the challenging atmosphere or motivation, the child can develop his potentials as an emotionally secure individual, sensitive to the needs of his fellowmen and his environment, embodying academic excellence and Christian character.
Brief History
GMMCS (then known as Golden Minds Montessori School) began as a dream and burden of a Christian couple to extend affordable solid Christian education to their immediate friends. Slowly, as the vision started to materialize, curriculums were considered and finally, the school settled on the Montessori program for the preschool levels.
GMMCS started to provide the Montessori preschool programs to eighteen learners in the summer of 2000. The classes were housed temporarily in a studio type structure, but by the beginning of School Year 2001-2002, a two-story building became the permanent structure.
The school gradually worked up the basic educational ladder, and in SY 2007-2008, it saw its first batch of elementary graduates.
At present, there is a four-story building sitting on the school grounds, with around a hundred and fifty students each year, with a low teacher-student ratio, ideal for catering to individual instruction. Parallel organizational development has also taken place with visions made deeper and a corresponding new managerial style.
After 16 years, God’s faithfulness is still truly evident in Great Minds Montessori and Christian School.
